Farm Manager
Job Summary:Grow For Me is searching for a Farm Manager to manage operations at our Northern Region
farm project. Primary responsibilities will be to maximize the quality and yield of the various
farm crops, while minimizing the cost of inputs. Included is supervision of all farming
operations & farm staff and participation in management decision making for the company.
Responsibilities:
1. Preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and ensuring staff
understands expectations.
2. Keeping on top of all projects to make sure work progresses in a satisfactory manner
3. Keeping accurate financial records and budgeting
4. Planning finances and production to maintain farm progress against budget
parameters
5. Keeping track of all key performance indicators (KPIs) and initiatives for productivity
enhancements
6. Managing and coordinating all the phases of agricultural production from planting to
harvesting
7. Monitoring activities such as irrigation, chemical applications and harvesting to
ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry/company standards.
8. Ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements and government
regulations
9. Keeping up to speed with all administrative records
10. Staying up to date with information on pests and diseases
11. Understanding the implications of the weather and making contingency plan
12. Keeping the business in profit and meeting financial targets
13. Assisting with the recruiting, training and managing labourers and workers
14. Analyzing field operations and recommending improvements.
15. Analyzing soil to determine type and quantity of fertilizer required for maximum
production.
16. Visiting the different divisions to inspect crops and also perform tests on soil and
water.
17. Ensuring seeds,fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are available on-time for
production.
18. Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery.
19. Handling and managing the proper storage and transfer of products produced on the
farm to Trade or Offtakers.
20. Collaborating with senior staff to prepare budgets and financial reports.
21. Building professional networks and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural
making decisions and formulating policies
22. Protecting the environment and maintaining biodiversity
23. Performing other duties as assigned.
● 3+ years agricultural experience
● Management & Leadership
■ Management and supervisory experience. Ability to instruct and

● Work Experience: Must have crop production experience with Maize, Rice, Sorghum
and Soybean well
● Farming Knowledge:
■ Precision and conservation farming techniques, technology and
equipment.
■ Crop Irrigation.
■ Mechanical repairs & Equipment servicing.
● General Knowledge
■ Knowledge in computer & technology with ability to use common office
equipment such as desktop/laptop/tablet computer, printer, scanner,

fax machine, smartphone. Good working knowledge of Microsoft
Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet.
■ Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and meet agreed
upon deadlines.

technologies to improve productivity and profitability.
■ Good physical condition allowing for extended amounts of time
standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or
balancing and stooping, carrying, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
Employees must frequently lift and/or move 50 kg or more.

Education/Training/Licences:
● Motor License
● Minimum of 3 years Agricultural Diploma preferred (Farm Management, Crop
Management or Agribusiness ideal).
Work Conditions & Environment:
● Willing to work long hours seasonally.
● Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions.
● Exposure to noise from farm and equipment.
